Mr. Alexandre Bigler is the VP, Head of Watches at Christie’s auction and not only is he a watch expert by profession, he is also an ardent collector with passion for vintages. When asked about his most treasured piece in his collection, the soft-spoken gentlemen from Switzerland was pretty reserved, but based on what he has seen over the years through his job, we know the definition of “humbling”. We still got the answer nonetheless – A Patek Philippe 570J with Breguet numerals.

Mr. Bigler currently leads Christie’s Asia Pacific Watches team to forward the collecting culture and art form in the region. He has immense experience and insights with the watch curating scene in Asia, having been stationed in Hong Kong for 4 years and Bangkok for 5 years. Under his belt are some of the most significant, world-record consignments such as the Patek Philippe Ref. 2499J fourth series hammered at USD 591,000 and a rare Rolex Ref. 6062 in 18k gold with star dial, hammered at USD 1.5M.
