Anton Suhanov is an independent watchmaker from St. Petersburg who was working as a chief designer in the Konstantin Chaykin manufacture and won the Young Talent Watchmaking Competition in 2016.
The eponymous label is known for producing the triple-axis tourbillon, the first of its kind from Russia, and also the Lotus clock where the triple-axis tourbillon is translated into an animated lotus flower. Anton Suhanov would go on to create his first wristwatch in 2021 - the Racer Jumping Hour GMT. While car-inspired watches are nothing novel in the industry, Anton Suhanov’s rendition of the automotive-themed sports watch is unique and displays time through his own design language, implemented by a unique module designed and manufactured by Suhanov himself.
Anton Suhanov did not immediately enter the watch industry. After completing his Master's Degree in CAD / CAM / CAE / PDM / PLM technology in mechanical engineering at the St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, he worked in a design bureau at a defense enterprise.
It was fate that he met Konstantin Chaykin which kind of influenced his thoughts on watchmaking, evident through the wristwatches he designed. chief technical designer at the Konstantin Chaykin manufacture from 2007. In 2016, he won he won the Young Talents Competition founded by the Académie Horlogère des Créateurs Indépendants and supported by François-Paul Journe (F. P. Journe Invenit et Fecit) presenting Black Clock, the first ever triple-axis tourbillon clock built in Russia.
After 10 years in Konstantin Chaykin, he finally decided to start his own eponymous label in 2018.
